Fun Fact:  The name 'GhilaDolci' originated from Courtney’s Nonno Fred, who combined her maiden name, Ghilarducci, and 'Dolci,' which means 'sweets' in Italian.  It was a perfect combination!

Meet Courtney!

GhilaDolci Bakery is owned and operated by Courtney Ghilarducci-Dendy, a pastry chef from Bakersfield, CA.  After graduating from UC Santa Barbara, with a degree in Business Economics, she completed the Baking and Patisserie course at Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena. Growing up in an Italian, farming family, food has always played an essential role in gatherings.  Courtney developed a love for baking at a young age, while helping her Nonna and Mom prepare biscotti, cakes, and pies. She enjoys traveling and has continued this love for pastries by eating her way through Paris and Rome; always seeking out the best bakeries. Courtney now wants to share her passion for sweet treats and Italian traditions with others.

Meet Ruth!

Growing up, Ruth was always in the kitchen helping her parents cook and bake. While doing this, she learned how to be independent in the kitchen and learned all the Filipino food and desserts. She wanted to explore and broaden her skills, so she attended Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena and completed the Baking and Patisserie program. There, she found a passion for baking!

Meet Frankie!

Frankie began baking and cooking at a young age which sparked his passion for the culinary arts. He moved to Pasadena, CA to pursue his career and graduated from Le Cordon Bleu's Baking and Patisserie program. Frankie has over a decade of experience and has created custom-designed cakes and pastries for movie premieres, television shows, film studios, celebrities, and digital influencers. His work was previously featured on The Try Guys YouTube channel and on the 200th episode of world-renowned chef, Gordon Ramsay's Masterchef. When he's not busy in the kitchen, he enjoys family time with his wife, daughter, and French bulldog Jasper. As well as deep sea fishing, snowboarding and spending time in nature. He's excited to be a part of the GhilaDolci team and bring his years of experience and artistry to Bakersfield.

Meet Sierra!

You will see her smiley face as our Front of the House team member. Sierra was born and raised in Bakersfield and attended Bakersfield College to study Culinary Arts. She then went on to Long Beach City College and received her Associates Degree in Baking and Pastry. She’s always loved food and has been obsessed with baking since she was five, when she made her first cake. She enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and 2 cats, Max and Jaina and also enjoys camping and going to the beach. She is very excited to be a part of the GhilaDolci Bakery team!

Meet Sydney!

 Sydney is a self taught baker who has been helping her mom in the kitchen since she could reach the stove. She grew up watching Julia Child and Jacques Pepin and trying to recreate their recipes. Sydney has been working for small businesses in Bakersfield since 2017 and hopes to open her own someday. When she’s not in the kitchen, Sydney enjoys going to karaoke on Tuesdays and is currently trying to catch up on One Piece.
